WBB: Howard Named SLC "Player of the Week"

FRISCO, Texas—After defeating Lamar for the first time in a decade this past Saturday, McNeese freshman forward Dakota Howard earned Southland Conference Player of the Week honors, the first Cowgirl to garner the weekly honor in a decade.

Howard led the Cowgirls to a 3-0 record including road wins at Incarnate Word and Houston Christian, and a home win against Lamar.

Howard averaged 17.0 ppg. and 6.0 rebounds, scored in double figures in all three games including tying her career high with 20 points at UIW, 18 at Houston Christian and 13 in a home win over Lamar.

Howard shot 59.0 percent from the field, led McNeese with 18 rebounds and 11 steals while dishing out six assists in its three games.
