WTEN: Cowgirls Pick Up Two Wins Last Week, Begin SLC Action Saturday

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LAKE CHARLES-- McNeese women't tennis extended its winning streak to five matches last week with two road wins to improve to 10-1 overall.  The Cowgirls began their week with a 4-2 win at Southern Miss then capped the week off with a 4-1 win at Jackson State.

"This was another battle-tested weekend for this group," said head coach Sonia Carlson. "We hit some adversity, and instead of blinking, they leaned in and responded with toughness and grit. That's growth. Every single match we've played has sharpened us and prepared us to compete for a Southland trophy. There's an edge to this team right now — our standards are clear, our goals are aligned, and the belief in that locker room is real. We're hungry, we're locked in, and we're ready to go."

McNeese will begin Southland Conference play on the road at Lamar this Saturday before closing out the first week on conference play at Incarnate Word on Monday, March 2.
