The 2026 Southland Conference regular season champs and No. 1 seeded McNeese Cowgirls will play No. 4 UTRGV at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in the Southland Conference Tournament semifinal round.  General admission tickets for the game are just $10 while standing room only tickets can be purchased for $5. McNeese students get in free with a valid ID.
 
UTRGV (20-12, 16-6 SLC) defeated the NW State 76-67 Tuesday morning in the  quarterfinals.
 
McNeese won both meetings against UTRGV, winning 70-54 in Edinburg, Texas on Jan. 17 and 60-53 in Lake Charles on Feb. 19.
 
The Cowgirls (27-4, 21-1 SLC) have won a school record 27 games and are making their 24^th overall tournament appearance and will be looking to win the tournament title for just the third time in program history with the last title coming on 2012.
 
McNeese will carry a 20-game winning streak into the tournament, currently the third longest in the nation.  The Cowgirls have also won 23 of their last 25 games.
