NATCHITOCHES—For the second game in the series, Northwestern State (14-15, 4-2 SLC) picks up a walk off win to clinch the Southland Conference series over McNeese (20-9, 4-2 SLC).  The Demons completed the series win over the Cowgirls with a 10-inning, 1-0 series finale win in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.  The Demons walked off with a 7-6 win on Friday night to open the series. 

McNeese (20-9, 4-2 SLC) picked up a 5-2 win in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.

The series finale was nothing short of a pitcher's duel as both staffs were exceptional in the circle.  McNeese's Kynlei Chapman was replaced in the sixth inning after tossing a no-hitter in 5 1/3 innings.  Brookelyn Taylor came in relief and allowed two hits, one run in 3 2/3 innings to absorb the loss, falling to 7-3 overall.

NW State's Mattison Buster improved to 12-6 overall after picking up her second win of the series over the Cowgirls.  Buster was flawless in the circle in the series finale, having a perfect game and no-hitter going until Rylee Eyster's single to center in the sixth was McNeese's first and only hit of the game.

Besides Eyster's hit, Buster allowed only one other baserunner all game, a walk to Rylee Cloud in the seventh inning.  

NW State's Sister Arnold led off the bottom half of the 10^th inning with a walk, Britt Bourgoyne reached a Cowgirl error moving pinch runner Cash Herber all the way to third base.  A JT Smith walk loaded the bases and McKenna Riewalt's single to third scored Herber to end the game.

In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader McNeese collected 11 hits against two NW State pitchers.  Four of the 11 Cowgirl hits were extra base hits including homeruns from Dibbley and Fontenot.  Taylor and Onn Puritt had each one double in the game.

Maddie Taylor improved to 7-1 overall with the complete game victory.  Taylor allowed five hits, two walks, and struck out five.

3^rd- McNeese scored two runs on a bunt single by Maddie Taylor and a sacrifice fly by Malayna Daigle (McN 3, NW St. 0)
5th- NW State's McKenna Rinewalt's put the Demons on the board with a two out two-run homerun to right field. (McN 3, NW St. 2)
6^th- McNeese got one run back with a leadoff homerun by Nyjah Fontenot (McN 4, NW St. 2)
7^th- McNeese added a run in the seventh when Nyjah Fontenot scored on a NW State error (McN 5, NW St. 2)

T6- Rylee Eyster broke up Buster Mattison's perfect game and no-hitter with a single to center for the first Cowgirl hit of the game.  What looked like the Cowgirls had the go-ahead runner on third after Eyster stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error.  A NW State challenge was successful and Eyster was called out at first for leaving too early.
Kynlei Chapman was replaced after walking the first two batters she faced in the sixth inning.  Chapman had a no-hitter going in 5 1/3 innings.
T7- Mattison allowed only her second baserunner of the game when she walked Rylee Cloud in the seventh but got out of the inning with a ground out to short .
B8- NW State picked up its first hit of the game with one out in the bottom of the eighth on a single by JT Smith.
