LAKE CHARLES—McNeese first year head volleyball coach Tayler Gray has announced the Cowgirls 2026 schedule that includes three tournaments including the Cowgirl Classic set for Sept. 17-19. The Cowgirls will also play eight Southland Conference home matches.
"I am pleased with the quality of our non-conference schedule" said head coach Tayler Gray. "We have the opportunity to stay close to home while competing against outstanding opponents who will challenge us every match. Those tests are exactly what we want as we prepare for conference play. Our goal is to continue improving throughout the non-conference season, so we're playing our best volleyball during our conference slate."
McNeese will host Sam Houston in an exhibition match on Aug. 14 before kicking off its regular season at the Sam Houston Invitational Aug.28-29. McNeese will face Miami University, Cal State Fullerton, and Sam Houston during its opening weekend.
The Cowgirls will host Grambling in its home opener on Sept. 17 which is the first day of the Cowgirl Classic. McNeese will also face Oral Roberts on Sept. 19. Oral Roberts and Grambling will face each other on Sept. 18.
The Southland Conference opener is slated for Sept. 23 when the Cowgirls will host UTRGV. McNeese will also host Stephen F. Austin, Lamar, East Texas A&M, Northwestern State, Southeastern, LSU New Orleans, and Nicholls.
Conference road matches has the Cowgirls traveling to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Southeastern, LSU New Orleans, Incarnate Word, Houston Christian, Stephen F. Austin, Lamar, and Nicholls.
The Southland Conference Championship is scheduled for Nov. 20-22 and will be hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
