LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese Cowgirls opened their 2026 exhibition schedule in impressive fashion Thursday night, rolling to a 7-0 victory over LSU Eunice in a match played over three 30-minute periods.
McNeese showcased its offensive depth throughout the evening, finding the back of the net seven times with six different players scoring. The Cowgirls struck early and never looked back, scoring at least two goals in each period while controlling possession from start to finish.
Senior
Morgan Fiedler ignited the attack with the opening goal of the match and later added her second goal in the final period to finish with a team-high two scores.
True freshman
Ashley Guild wasted little time making an impact in her collegiate debut, netting her first career goal to give the Cowgirls a 2-0 advantage after the opening 30 minutes.
The offensive momentum continued in the second period as
Sumayah Brown extended the lead before
Rhiannon Maynes-Tourond picked up where she left off last season, scoring to make it 4-0. Transfer
Gabbi Barusic then converted a penalty kick late in the period to send McNeese into the final frame with a commanding 5-0 lead.
Fiedler's second goal of the evening pushed the advantage to 6-0 before another freshman,
Kenya Corriea, capped the scoring with her first collegiate goal as time expired.
