LAKE CHARLES — McNeese Athletics has announced a new collaboration with NIL PreCheck powered by Advance NIL, expanding the university's resources for navigating athlete representation and third-party involvement within the rapidly evolving name, image and likeness landscape.

The collaboration comes at an important time for NIL in Louisiana, as expectations surrounding athlete-agent registration, transparency and accountability continue to evolve.

Through NIL PreCheck, McNeese will have access to a structured process designed to help identify and better understand the agents and service providers seeking to work with its student-athletes.

Rather than creating an additional compliance burden for the university, the collaboration provides McNeese with an independent resource that can complement its existing NIL education and oversight efforts.

Why It Matters

As the number of individuals and companies seeking to work with college athletes continues to grow, athletes and institutions are increasingly being asked to make decisions about people they may know very little about.

NIL PreCheck helps address that gap by providing:

• Independent background screening and due-diligence information
• Greater visibility into athlete agents and NIL service providers
• Ongoing monitoring and structured information
• Educational resources for athletes and families
• A centralized process for navigating representation inquiries
• Additional transparency without creating institutional endorsement of individual providers

The collaboration is designed to help McNeese create a more organized and informed environment for student-athletes while maintaining the independence of their personal NIL decisions.

NIL PreCheck is also working alongside the Louisiana Department of Justice as part of the state's developing athlete-agent accountability framework. The McNeese collaboration extends that emphasis on transparency into the campus environment by creating a university-specific pathway for accessing NIL PreCheck resources.

As part of the rollout, McNeese and NIL PreCheck will establish a dedicated university portal and communication process designed to help organize representative inquiries and connect the university community with NIL PreCheck resources.
