LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese Cowgirl soccer team (5-5-0) returns home Thursday night following a four-game road swing when it takes on the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks (4-6-0) at Cowgirl Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.

The Cowgirls enter Thursday night's match coming off a 2-1 loss at Southeastern on Thursday to open Southland Conference play. Rhiannon Maynes-Tourond scored the lone goal for the Cowgirls off a penalty kick in the 54th minute, marking her third goal of the season. Seventeen different players saw action against the Lions, with Shannon Dempsey, Ella Grace Davis, Alexandra Arvanitis, Rebecca Romero and Caitlyn Trosclair each playing all 90 minutes.

The Ladyjacks were picked to finish fifth in the Southland Conference Preseason Poll. Stephen F. Austin enters Thursday's match on a three-game winning streak following a 2-1 home victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to open SLC play. The Ladyjacks are led by Alyce Chappelle, who has a team-high five goals and 11 points this season.
