2014: Hit .267 with 19 runs , eight doubles, seven home runs, 23 RBI, a .299 on-base percentage, six walks, three hit-by-pitches, and four steals in 51 games (37 starts, including 25 in left field and 12 in right field)... recorded 10 multi-hit games and five multi-RBI contests...hit .293 with a .317 on-base percentage in Southland Conference regular season games... batted 2-for-4 with a run and a stolen base against historical powerhouse Southern Miss on Feb. 16... tied a program, conference and NCAA record with 10 plate appearances in a 18 inning affair against UTA on Feb. 21... went 2-for-5 with two RBI, a run scored and a stolen base at Northwestern State on March 8... posted consecutive multi-hit games against Southern and Oral Roberts... had one of his best offensive outings at home against Southern batting 2-for-2 with four RBI, a home run and two runs scored... SLC TOURNAMENT: started in all four conference tournament games… went 1-for-3 with a scored run to help upset No. 2 seed Nicholls... collected a hit and drove in two runs against Central Arkansas in game two... batted 2-for-4 against No. 5 seed and posted an RBI and a run scored... Collected a double against UCA in an elimation game.

Pre-McNeese: Played two years at Alvin Community College in Alvin, Texas… earned all-conference and all-region honors after a stellar sophomore season in 2013… batted .386 with three home runs and 17 doubles.

High School: Prepped at Brazoswood HS where he helped lead his team to the state championship playing in centerfield… was a two-year all-district team selection and lettered two years… member of National Honor Society

Personal: Born 5/7/93… parents are Gus and Nora Cantu… has two siblings, Justin and Megan… majoring in mechanical engineering.
