• Pulled down his 1,000th overall career rebound at UTRGV on 1/25.
• Grabbed his 1,000th rebound as a Cowboy at A&M-Corpus Christi on Jan. 27.
• Season-high 22 points against LeTourneau, hitting 8 of 9 from the field including 4-5 from 3FG range.
• Opened the season with 11 points and 9 rebounds against South Dakota State.
• 10 points at Alabama.
• Tied a career-high with 4 blocked shots against North Texas.

No. 1 in SLC and 31st in NCAA in RPG (9.5), offensive rpg (3.6, 15th in NCAA), and total rebounds (313, 24th NCAA) and double-doubles (12, 35th NCAA).. No. 2 in SLC in BPG (1.4), total blocks (47), and defensive rpg (6.1)... Pulled down a career-high 21 rebounds in a win at UAB, marking the 6th-most in school history and also the most by a Southland player this season... 24 games with 10 or more points and 15, 10-rebound games on the year... Set a SLC Tournament record with 41 rebounds in three games, breaking a 33-year-old mark... Ranked 2nd in the SLC with 9.7 rebounds per game... Led the conference and ranked 11th in the NCAA with 16 double-doubles... Grabbed 3.7 offensive rebounds, ranking No. 1 in the SLC and 7th in the nation... 330 total rebounds on the season to rank 13th in the country and ranking tied as the 9th-most in a single-season in school history... His 512 points scored is ranked as the 2nd-most by a sophomore in McNeese history and the 29th-most by any class all-time while his team-high 15.1 ppg average is the 10th-best by a sophomore all-time... Scored 10 or more points 26 times on the year including 15 straight games to end the season... Netted 20 or more points eight times and clipped 30 or more twice, including a career-high 32 points against UIW on Feb. 18... 10 or more rebounds 20 times and had a season-high 15 boards vs. A&M-Corpus Christi in the SLC tourney semifinals., where he also scored 30 points... 2021-22 (Redshirt Freshman):
All-Southland Conference 3rd Team... Led the team and ranked tied for 11th in SLC in scoring with a 12.2 average... Team leader and 6th in SLC in rebounding at 6.7 per game... 4th in SLC in FG shooting at 51.7% (168-325)... 5th in SLC in blocked shots per game at 0.8 (28 total)... In SLC games only, averaged 15.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game... Scored double-figures in 21 games... 20 or more points 6 times... Season-high 29 points at UIW (1/22/22) in an 82-72 win where he hit 11 of 18 from the field and 7-10 from the FT line... added 11 rebounds for the double-double... 5 double-doubles on the year... Career-high 17 rebounds to go along with 22 points in a win over Arlington Baptist (1/12/22).
2020-21 (Freshman Season at Tulsa):
Played in 8 games for Tulsa, averaging 5.3 minutes per game... Averaged 1.5 points, 1.4 rebounds and secured 3 blocks for TU... Scored a season-high 4 points and 2 rebounds against Temple (Jan. 26)... Put in a career-high 2 blocks against Houston (Jan. 20)... Scored his first career points with two dunks against Northwestern State (Dec. 18).

High School:
Played his senior season at Bloom High School... Averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds and 7 blocked shots in helping Bloom post a 28-6 record... Earned all-state and all-conference recognition as a senior... Named the Defensive Player of the Year for the south suburban area his senior season... One of five Bloom starters to sign a Division I basketball scholarship... Named to the Chicago Heights Thanksgiving Classic all-tournament team after registering a triple-double with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocks in the championship game against Marian Catholic... Also earned all-tournament team honors at the Pontiac Holiday Tournament... Had a 19-point performance in the state’s #1 vs. #2 game, pitting Bloom and Curie High Schools.
• Played at Plainfield East High School his first three seasons.

Personal:
Born July 24, 2002... Parents are Evelyn and Richard Shumate... Started playing basketball at the age of 12 and looked up to Derrick Rose... In his spare time he likes to skateboard and eat mac and cheese... His biggest sports thrill is putting in a triple-double in his state championship.
