HIGH SCHOOL: Senior year - 1st Team All-District tight end… made 17 catches for 206 yards and 4 touchdowns… helped lead Sulphur to the state playoffs for the first time in three years… Recipient of the Rodney Spell Team Leadership Award… Was his first year to play football… Played for Coach Jeff Wainwright… An All-District baseball player, earning 1st team honors as a utility player his senior season, at first base his junior year, and at third base as a freshman… also earned 1st team All-Southwest Louisiana and All-State honors as a utility player his senior season, and was named 1st team Louisville Slugger All-American as a first baseman in his final year... he helped lead Sulphur High to a 3-5A district title and a state semifinal appearance as a senior... that year, he hit .407 with 9 home runs, 8 doubles, 2 triples, 44 RBIs, 38 runs scored, walked 26 times, stole 14 bases, and struck out just five times in 139 plate appearances... an injury sidelined him his sophomore season… Ranked as the No. 29 baseball prospect in the state of Louisiana by Perfect Game.
