2021 (Redshirt Sophomore): Missed season due to injury. 

2020 (Sophomore): Covid Shortened Season... appeared in four games making three starts... pitched to a 1-0 record with a 5.06 ERA... struck out 12 batters in 10.2 innings. 

2019 (Freshman): Appeared in 11 games and made 3 starts... compiled a 1-2 record with a 8.16 ERA... struck out 12 batters in 14.1 innings pitched... had one of his best outings in a win against LSU in Baton Rouge...he dominated the Tigers, pitching 6.0 innings shutout innings allowing only two hits and striking out five batters to earn himself the win... allowed an opponent batting average of .231.

High School: Played high school ball at at Lumberton High School... in his freshman year he finished the season wih a 3-0 record as a starter, had 22 strikeouts, and only gave up 8 walks in 18 IP... in his junior year he finished with a 5-2 record, 1.62 ERA, and  72 strikeouts in 48 IP. Also had a .343 batting average and 12 RBI... in his senior year he pitched two no-hitters, was the Texas 5A strikeout leader wih 123 strikeouts, and finished with a 1.94 ERA in 61 IP, while also having a .370 BA, 14 RBI, and a .970 fielding percentage.

Personal: Born December 4, 1999… son of Justin and Ramona Payne… his mother played volleyball and cheered for Blinn and Hill Junior College... majoring in chemical engineering.
