Pre-McNeese: standout for St. Louis High....helped lead team to the state title...in senior year was named the Southwest Lousisiana Player of the Year....member of the state all-star team....all-district three straight years...top season had him batting .460 with nine home runs, 25 RBI's and 10 stolen bases...he also was an all-district linebacker in football, was the team's defensive MVP and was named to the all-Southwest team...played baseball for former Cowboy Ross Blankenship and football for Mike Johns
