Pre-McNeese-came from a strong prep baseball program at Barbe High where he earned three, twice was named to the all-district team and served as the team captain...helped team win two state titles...expected to compete for playing time at first base...attended LSU but was not a member of the baseball team...during his senior year at Barbe he posted a .340 batting average and belted eight home runs...hit .319 with three home runs and 40 RBI's as a junior...earned academic all-state honors in high school
