Expected to return to starting role at shortstop (took over that spot when Shon Landry was injured last year)....also expected to be one of the key hitters on the squad...batted .343 overall and .330 in league games only...16 times had two or more hits...six times had three hits in a game... drove in three runs in game with Louisiana Tech...top fielding infielder, committing only eight errors in 254 chances...did not play in 2008 because of injury...played at Bossier Parish CC, batting .303 with 58 stolen base...prep career at St. Louis High under Terry Blurrows...batted .398 with nine home runs as a senior...all-district two years running...birthdate 9/26/87...parents are Jay and Carol Fontenot...mother and older brother graduated from McNeese...graduated last May and is completing his athletic eligibility this season...was honor student in General Studies
