2017: One of the Cowboys' weekend rotation pitchers who compiled an 8-3 record and a 3.78 ERA in making 14 starts on the season... his eight victories tied as the team high... threw one complete game... tossed 78.2 innings and struck out 48 batters while holding opponents to a .273 batting average... tossed his complete game against Southeastern Louisiana on April 1 in a 4-1 win where he allowed just the one run and three hits... had four quality starts on the year... started the season 6-0 before suffering his first loss... struck out a season-high nine batters at UCA while throwing seven shutout innings to get the win.

Pre-McNeese: Spent the last season at Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas as a redshirt freshman… Pitched in summer with the Brazos Valley Bombers, held a 2-0 record with a 1.13 ERA.
 
High School: Four year starter out of Winnsboro High School… earned first team all-district in his sophomore, junior and senior season as outfielder, infielder and designated hitter respectively… named honorable mention east Texas in his sophomore and junior year… had a .312 batting average along with 20 hits and 14 runs… recorded a .443 on base percent, 19 RBI and a .390 slugging percentage… also lettered four years as a basketball player.
 
Personal: Born 7/18/95... parents are David and Brandi Deaton... majoring in sports medicine… father played baseball at Paris Junior College
