Last year, as a sophomore, Edwin ran seven times for the Cowboys. His best finish was seventh at the ULL Ragin Cajun Invite with a time of 22:21…..Edwin also finished in the top 15 in two other meets….. the McNeese Cowboy Stampede he finished 14^th with a time of 17:23 and teamed up with Matt Fontenot to finish 12^th in the McNeese 2/3000 relay with a 9:17 split….Edwin finished 46th in the Southland Conference Regional’s with a 26:28 time which qualified him for a spot in the NCAA regional meet where he ran 99^th with a time of 34:3.  Edwin also runs for the track team where he medaled twice….. the first coming at the La. Classics meet where he took home first place in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 10:20 and again at the Cowboy relays where a time of 16:16 in the 5000 meters gave him a third place medal….now a junior Edwin’s experience should help him improve his times and become a solid runner for the Cowboys this year.

older brother Johnathan is a member of the Cowboy team and older sister Clerc ran for Lamar and was the outstanding athlete in the conference three years ago...four letters in track and six in cross country for Anacoco High...ran on four state runner-up teams in cross country and one in track...honor roll in liberal studies
