Brody Trahan

Brody Trahan comes to McNeese as the linebackers coach after spending the last two seasons at Ithaca College in the same capacity.

This past season, he helped coach Ithaca to its first-ever national ranking in the NCAA Division III poll, an 8-3 record, and an appearance in the ECAC Scotty Whitelaw Bowl. In addition, he coached All-American Pat Minogue, who was named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year while every member of the starting defense was named to one of three All-ECAC teams.

In 2017, Trahan mentored three linebackers to all-conference recognition - Kenny Bradley, Dan Loizos and Minogue.

A 2012 and 2014 graduate of Baylor University, Trahan served as a graduate assistant and defensive analyst at his alma mater for three seasons. During that time, he coached the outside linebackers and nickel position, as well as broke down opponents’ defensive and special teams video, and assisted in recruiting coordination with video analysis of high school prospects.

Trahan began his career at Baylor as a quarterback but made the transition to linebacker and special teams contributor. He would letter all four seasons and was a team captain during the 2013 season.

He played in 52 career games from 2010-13 and made 104 tackles, including 42 during his senior campaign for the Big 12 Conference champions. In that season, Trahan recorded nine tackles in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl against Central Florida.
