Former Angelo State standout quarterback Kyle Washington joined the McNeese staff in the spring of 2019 to serve as the team’s offensive quality control coach.
A 2014 graduate of Angelo State, Washington previously served as a graduate assistant at his alma mater where he worked with the running backs.
Prior to his coaching debut, he spent time at the Philadelphia Eagles’ rookie mini-camp and also the Saskatchewan Roughriders training camp.
As a player at Angelo State, Washington was a two-time Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Year (2014, 2015), a three-time all-conference selection, three-year team captain, and a two-time LSC Academic Player of the Year.
He earned Don Hansen All-Super Region 4 honors in 2014 and 2015 and selected to the D2Football.com All-American Team in 2014 and 2015.
He quarterbacked an offense that led D2 football with 560 yards per game in 2015 and became the first player in school history to throw for over 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 in a season (2013).
