2014: Team leader and ranked sixth in the Southland Conference in rushing with a 71.1 yards per game average... ran for 711 yards in 10 games played and rushed for two touchdowns... threw for another 624 yards on 46 of 97 passing with seven scoring strikes... ranked eighth in the league in total offense with 133.5 yards per game... had three 100-yard rushing games... 135 yards on 13 carries against Nicholls... ran for 130 yards on 20 carries and a score a week later at Sam Houston State... followed that with his third straight 100-yard rushing game with 112 yards on 13 carries against Abilene Christian... injured his throwing hand thumb against SFA... played just a couple snaps at Southeastern Louisiana and missed the season finale versus Lamar.

2013 at Kansas State: Played in all 13 games, finishing second on the team with 807 rushing yards and a team-high 11 touchdowns while throwing for 452 and four scores on 38-of-53 aim... Earned Honorable Mention All-Big 12 accolades as he finished seventh in the conference in touchdown scoring, ninth in rushing and 10th in passing... Ranked fifth in school history in rushing yards by a sophomore and by a quarterback... Also tied for third in 100-yard rushing games by a quarterback (3)... Also finished eighth in season rushing touchdowns by a quarterback... Became the 26th player in school history with 1,000 career rushing yards... Rushed for a 17-yard score against North Dakota State on his first play of the year... Set career passing highs in virtually every category at Oklahoma State... Answered that with a 199-yard rushing game against Baylor, which were the second-most yards by a quarterback in K-State history and the most ever by a Wildcat sophomore... 2012: Saw action in eight games following a redshirt season... Rushed for 235 and three touchdowns on 32 carries, while he went 6-for-8 for 55 yards through the air... Recorded the most rushing yards by a freshman quarterback in school history, while his rushing yardage total was fourth among all freshmen in K-State history... Began his career on fire against Missouri State as he rushed three times for 61 yards, including a 46-yard touchdown... Rushed three times for 47 yards and two more scores against Miami... Teamed with Collin Klein (3) to have two quarterbacks rush for multiple touchdowns in a single game under Bill Snyder... Set then-career-highs in carries (10) and yards (67) against Kansas... Saw the most extensive action of his career against Oklahoma State, rushing seven times for 20 yards and going 5-of-6 for 45 yards in the air.

Named to PrepStar magazine’s All-Southeast Region team... Named the Offensive Player of the Year by The Times-Picayune... Named Honorable Mention Class 4A All-State by 2theadvocate.com... A member of The Times-Picayune’s Blue Chip list... One of the New Orleans metro area’s most versatile athletes... Played quarterback, running back and wide receiver, as well as punter and kick returner... Led Salmen to a No. 1 state ranking in Class 4A for eight straight weeks... Passed for 577 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior, while he also rushed for 579 yards and nine scores on 56 carries and caught 21 passes for 518 yards and nine touchdowns... Totaled over 3,000 all-purpose yards as a senior... Helped lead the Spartan basketball team to a state championship as a junior.

Other:  Daniel Dherrell Sams was born October 1, 1992, in New Orleans... Son of John and Sherrell Griffin... Has two brothers... his uncle, B.J. Sams, was a standout receiver and return player for the Cowboys and still holds several school records.
