Phillip Chartier

Phillip Chartier is in his first season at McNeese as the Head Equipment Manager but he's no stranger to the profession or to head coach Gary Goff.
He previously was a student equipment manager for the Valdosta State football program from 2015 to 2019, serving the 2017 and 2018 seasons as the head equipment manager. He was with Coach Goff in 2019. He moved to the basketball program for the 2019-20 season and also worked with the baseball team in 2016. 
Chartier earned his Master's in Public Administration from Valdosta State in 2021 while spending two years working game operations with primary duties, preparing venues for game days and running in-game promos. He received his Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Coaching and Physical Education in 2018 while acting as the Equipment Manager at Valdosta State. He also has an Associate's Degree in Business Administration which he earned in 2015 from Georgia Military College where he started as a student manager at Valdosta.
A United States Navy veteran, Chartier served in the Iraqi War where he was a Navy Seabee, doing construction for the Navy. 
He is married to Cassandra Chartier, who is currently a social worker at a homeless shelter in Valdosta, GA. He also has two children, Blake and Caleb, from a previous marriage.Â
