Junior Season (2012-2013): Played in all 31 games and made two starts - the first two games of the season... scored double-figures five times on the season with a career-high 19 points against Louisiana-Lafayette on Dec. 8 where he connected on 8 of 14 from the field... scored 15 points after playing a career-best 40 minutes at Nicholls... connected on 6 of 12 from the field in the game... tied a season-high by playing 28 minutes at SHSU and blocked a career-best three shots in the game...knocked in 12 points against Northwesten State on Feb. 3... scored 12 points against Centenary... started the first two games of the season and scored 11 points in season-opener against Louisiana College on 5 of 10 shooting... career-high 3 steals in that game.
Sophomore Season (2011-2012): played in 31 games and averaged 4.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game... scored double-figures three times - 10 at Auburn, 12 vs. Louisiana Tech and 11 at Toledo... the 12 against LTU set a career-high... connected on 13 of 39 of his shots from 3-point range... a career 72 percent free throw shooter.
Freshman Season (2010-2011): saw action in 18 games and scored 12 points and pulled 10 rebounds...saw his most action in games against Washington, Louisiana College and Southwest Assemblies....had a season high five points in victory over Louisiana College....scored two points each in games with Washington, Georgia State and Southwest Assemblies...pulled four rebounds against Louisiana College.
Pre-McNeese: he was one of the state’s top performers as a high school senior at Opelousas High. He averaged 18 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists and two steals per game. These were averages he posted early in the year as he was sidelined the final half of the season with an injury. He also went on to play AAU basketball during the summer and was a teammate of current Cowboy standout Patrick Richard. Adrian played high school ball for Coach James Rollins who said that McNeese has a player who can do it all. “He’s smart and he knows the game. After he got hurt in his senior year he sat right next to me every game and got to learn the game. He was well on his way to becoming the team MVP and earning all-district honors before he was injured,” said the coach. Fields was to have played every position on the team for Rollins his senior year at Opelousas High.
