Biography

Atakan Yurttas is a newcomer to the team and to collegiate basketball... he's a sophomore in classification but has not played since his high school career in Turkey... spent last season getting eligible to play with various courses he had to take in school... probably will work at both the small and the power forward positions... good perimeter shooter.

Pre-McNeese: Played four years of prep basketball at Aden Tolunay High... in senior year he averaged 19 points, 14 rebounds and four assists per game... named the MVP of the high schools in Antalya... also earned a post season all-tournament berth.

Personal:  Birthdate April 28, 1988... parents are Ferhat and Ydkaur Yurttas... Civil Engineering major... earned academic honors in high school.
