C.J. Collins has been the Cowboy's floor leader the last two seasons and will be one of the more experienced  point guards in the conference this year.  He came ot McNeese as a walk-on and before his first semester was over he was on scholarship.  He's a solid all-around player who has worked hard on his shooting.

Junior Season(2009-2010):  led the team in assists with 89 and was fourth in steals...averaged 5.4 points per game in conference outings only...had nine assists against Lamar and eight against Central Arkansas...career high 13 points against several teams...made seven of eight free throws down the stretch in win over Northwestern State...led team in scoring against LSU with 12 points...also had three assists and three steals...won team assists award for second straight year.

Sophomore Season (2008-2009): Second on the team in minutes played with 841 and an average of 29 per game... scored at a 4.9 clip and led the team in assists with a 3.2 average... in conference games only he averaged 5.4 points a contest... was also tops on the team in steals with almost one per game... twice scored a career high 13 points (vs. Florida Atlantic and vs. Lamar)... assist high of 10 came against Northwestern State... started 25 of the 29 games he played.

Freshman Season (2007-2008): Played in all 29 games and averaged 1.6 points per game... real worth to the team was getting the ball down the floor and into the right hands... had 24 assists... did not score in double figures and single game high was five points on four different occasions... single season high of six assists came against Dillard... averaged 7.2 minutes of playing time.

Pre-McNeese: Standout at Washington-Marion High as a point guard where he earned all-district honors, was named to the all-Southwest Louisiana team and earned an honorable mention on the all-state team... averaged 16.8 points and nine assists per game his senior season.

Personal: Birthdate November 15, 1988... General Studies major... honor roll student in high school... named to Who's Who... recipient of REACT award... parents are Patrick Collins and Andrea Jackson... father attended McNeese State.
