P.J. Alawoya (al-lah-waa-yuh) is a talented player who has been one of the top rebounders in the Southland Conference the past two years.  He's in his third season as a starter and has been improving his shooting game from the perimeter.

^{Junior Season (2009-2010)- led the team in rebounding for the second straight year (7.4 per game) and also ranked fourth in scoring with an 8.0 mark....double figures in rebounding in seven games with a season high of 16 against Northwestern State and 15 vs Southern (NO), 10 and 13 vs Southern Utah, 13 and 16 vs. Northwestern State and 10 and 11 vs Nicholls}

Sophomore Season (2008-2009): Got off to a great start as he pulled rebounds in double figures in three of his first four outings... went on to four double doubles and ranked sixth in the conference in rebounding... pulled season high 15 rebounds against TCU and scored a season and career high 32 points against Wiley... double doubles came against Wiley, TCU, Florida Atlantic and UTA... Eight times in double figures in rebounding and seven times in scoring.

Freshman Season (2007-2008): Played in 28 of 19 games last year and wound up with 2.3 rebounding and 2.1 scoring average... six times he came off the bench to pull five or more rebounds... had career high of seven rebounds against Nicholls State and Louisiana College... had a career high eight points against Texas State... scored six points and pulled six rebounds in SLC tournament game against Sam Houston State... played 19 minutes in that game and also went three for six from the floor... ranked 8th on the team in minutes played.

Pre-McNeese: One of the standouts on the Alief Hastings team that was ranked among the top 20 prep teams in the nation at one time... averaged 15 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks per game... made 61 percent of his shots... had three year career totals of 919 rebounds and 353 blocked shots... single game highs of 23 rebounds and six blocks... team captain... all-district... named to Greater Houston area all-star team... played on three district championship teams.

Personal: Birthdate December 16, 1988... sister B.J. played volleyball at Savannah State... Kinesiology major... parents are Robert Alawoya and Sade Akintunde.
