Biography

John Pichon is the heart of the Cowboy
team...he’s a returning starter (three time) and has improved both his scoring and his rebounding...he’s cat quick and can jump with the best of them..will play both forward positions


Junior Season (2007-2008): was among the Cowboy leaders in just about every department..9.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game...averaged
11.4 points per game in conference
games only...also had a 7.2 rebound average...was named the winner of the team’s Joe Dumars award...had three double doubles...season and career high 26 points (vs Texas State) and 17 rebounds (vs Central Arkansas)...led team in rebounding in nine games and in five of last eight games....double scoring figures in 13 games and in last four....double rebound figures four times..started 28 games

 

Sophomore Season (2006-2007): took over a starting role and started 29 of the 32 games...averaged 6.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game..third on team in blocked shots with 28..had a season high 17 rebounds against Nicholls State (a top five in the conference)...also 12 rebounds
vs Sam Houston and 11 vs SE Louisiana...six times in double scoring figures with a high of 15 (vs UTSA)..just missed first double double vs Miss. Valley (11 points, 9 rebounds)

 

Freshman Season (2005-2006): saw very little playing time, competing in nine games...he scored three points and pulled five rebounds....played in only one conference game....scored two points against Louisiana College and pulled two rebounds

 

Pre-McNeese: was a three year letterman at Slidell High where he became one of the school’s all-time leaders in both scoring and rebounding
and played four of the five positions
on the team...the only post he did not play was that of point guard....in his senior season he averaged 19.1 points, 11 rebounds and three steals per game....he also blocked 88 shots that year... twice he was named his team’s most valuable player and he was also an all-state, all-metro and all-district selection...his senior year he was named MVP of his district...

 

Personal: birthdate of May 9, 1986....parents are John and Juana Pichon...honor roll student in high school ...cousin Troy Twilly played football at LSU....major is Health and Human Performance
