Joining the staff in the summer of 2019, Matt serves as the Athletic Trainer for the Men’s Basketball team.Â
Prior to joining our staff, Matt spent a year as an Athletic Training Resident at the Bone & Joint Clinic of Baton Rouge. During his time there he assisted the orthopedic physicians in their clinics seeing patients, as well as in the operating room. He also provided outreach services to area high schools. Â
He received his Master’s degree in Advanced Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina in May 2018. In his first year as a Graduate Assistant, he provided outreach athletic training services to an area high school. In his second year, he served as a Graduate Assistant with the University of South Carolina Track & Field team.Â
Matt graduated from the University of Iowa in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training after working with the men’s basketball, wrestling, football, and baseball teams.Â
He is a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer and is a Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Louisiana. He holds certifications in First Aid & CPR/AED for the professional rescuer as well as Level I Graston Technique.
He enjoys watching any and all sports in his free time, as well as heading the McNeese Sports Medicine media pages and trivia team.
