Biography
2009: one of the top distance runners in the conference… named to the all-Louisiana cross country team…Amy won two meets last year, the first coming at the McNeese 2/3000m relay where she ran a 10:38 split in a team effort with Alvy Carragher…she also won the Cowboy Stampede, running the 5K course in 19:20..Amy also placed second at the La. Tech Mook Classic running the two mile course in 11:55..she placed 30th at the conference meet which earned her a spot at the NCAA South Central Regional’s where she placed 54th…..Amy was named to the 2010 All Louisiana collegiate track and field team in the 5000m (17:20) and the 10,000m(36:24) both were the best collegiate times in the state last year…she also won the conference championship in both the 5000m and the 10,000m….named McNeese MVP track runner last year...also coming off a second place conference finish in the 3000 meters and fourth in the mile indoors...career bests outdoors of 2:22.87 (800), 4:41.71 (1500), 10:12.17 (3000) and 17:20.53 (5000).
2008: Finished in seventh place at the Azaela City Invitational... has a standout career going...finished third in the 3000 meters during the ‘09 SLC indoor championship...fifth in the mile at the ‘08 SLC indoor meet...had team best of 2:22.87 in the 800 meters, 4:41.71 in the 1500 meters, 10:12.17 in the 3000 and 18:13.24 in the 5000...one top 10 finish in cross country in ‘08...named team track and cross country freshman of year in ‘07
HIGH SCHOOL: member of cross country and indoor/outdoor track district championship teams...member of all-state teams in cross country as well as indoor and outdoor track
OTHER: mom, dad and sister all attended McNeese...sister Tiffany was a member of the track and cross-country teams at both McNeese and USL
