Adam Pennington is in his second year on the McNeese track and field coaching staff and has taken on the responsibilities of all jumps and multis this season.
As the team's pole vault coach last year, he helped develop Nicole Casper into the top vaulter in the Southland Conference and in Louisiana as well as coaching her to a NCAA 1st Round East Qualifing spot. On the men's side, he coached Dakota Breaux who scored at last year's conference championships.

A 2013 of LSU-Alexandria in general studies/kinesiology, Pennington comes to McNeese after spending the last four years coaching jumps and hurdles at Marksville High School, his high school alma mater, where he coached five district championship squads and helped develop two nationally ranked high jumpers.

Following high school, Pennington attended Cowley Community College in Arkansas City, Kansas where he was a member of the track team competing in the decathlete and jumps. He graduated with an associates degree in liberal arts in 2007.

In 2006, Cowley CC finished second in the conference in the outdoor championships and in the indoor season, the team was a top three finisher at the NJCAA National Championships.

Pennington was a NJCAA national qualifier in the decathlon in 2007 while helping lead his team to the outdoor conference and regional championships. That team also placed in the top three at the NJCAA Outdoor Championships.

He enrolled at Northwestern State in Natchitoches where he was a member of the track and field team in 2007 and 2008 before taking a job at Marksville HS.
