After serving the 2022 and 2023 seasons as a softball volunteer coach, Cori McCrary will now serve as the softball Strength and Conditioning coach.
The former two-time All-Southland Conference shortstop, McCrary was a three year starter and was a member of the 2021 squad that claimed the Southland Conference Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Â
McCrary ended her career with a .314 batting average, 139 hits, 28 doubles, 16 home runs, and 68 stolen bases and ranks in eight McNeese career categories: hit by pitch (4th), stolen base attempts (6th), stolen bases (7th), stolen base percent (7th), slugging percent (T-8th), batting average (10th), home runs (10th) and on base percent (10th).
In her final season with the Cowgirls, she led the team with a .550 slugging percent, 48 runs scored, 10 home runs, and 104 total bases. She was also second on the team with 58 hits, 32 RBI, and 22 stolen bases.
