Katie Roux

Katie Roux is in her third season as a Cowgirl coach and first season as associate head coach.
 
Roux has been instrumental in helping the Cowgirls to back-to-back SLC Tournament Titles and NCAA appearances (2017, 2018) as well as the 2017 regular season title.
  
The Cowgirls’ starting shortstop from 2011-14, was named assistant coach in 2017. Roux helped McNeese to back-to-back regular season Southland Conference titles in 2013 and 2014 and advanced to the Southland Conference Tournament all four years. Roux was recruited and played one season for Natalie Poole who is the head coach at Memphis and completed her playing career at McNeese under Mike Smith, now the head coach at Ole Miss.
   
While at McNeese, Roux was the Cowgirls’ second baseman as a freshman where she was named to the Southland Conference and All-Louisiana honorable mention teams in 2011 and the SLC all-tournament team in 2012. She then moved to shortstop where she held down the starting position for the next three years.
  
The native of Denham Springs, Louisiana, was a member of the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll throughout her collegiate career and was named an NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and the SASOL Student Athlete of the season in 2013. Roux was also a three-time Southland Conference All-Academic selection and a member of the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District team.
    
After playing for McNeese, Roux remained at McNeese as a student assistant in 2015 before serving as a softball and volleyball coach at Live Oak High School for the 2015-16 season.
