Dana Dunbar, who has spent the past two seasons as the Director of Softball Operations for the Southland Conference champion McNeese Cowgirls, moved into an administrative role within athletic department in June 2023 for the newly created position of Coordinator of Compliance and Student-Athlete Services, Director of Athletics Heath Schroyer announced on Tuesday.
 
Dunbar’s primary focus will be working closely with the NCAA on behalf of McNeese student-athletes.
 
A native of Chadron, Nebraska, Dunbar graduated magna cum laude with bachelor's degree in business management from Northwest Missouri State University in December 2021 and a master's degree in business administration from McNeese in December 2023.

Dunbar played softball for Des Moines Area Community College from 2018-2019 where she served as captain of the third place NJCAA College World Series team. While playing for the Bears, Dunbar's accolades included being named to the ICCAC Second Team All-Region, ICCAC First Team All-Regional Academic, and Second Team NJCAA All-Academic.
