SJ begins her first year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the softball team after serving as a Graduate Assistant for the past two years, while receiving her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology.
Prior to joining our staff, SJ interned at Mississippi State University during the summer of 2019, working as an intern with the football team. During her time there, she worked closely with the Sports Medicine Staff, providing team coverage, rehabilitative treatments, and overall athlete care. She returned and completed a second summer internship at Mississippi State University in the summer of 2020.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from The University of Southern Mississippi in May 2019 after working with the football, softball, and men’s tennis teams, as well as an area high school.
SJ is a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer, and is a Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Louisiana. She holds a certification in First Aid & CPR/AED use for the professional rescuer.
She has a pet cow named Ducky, and a Boston Terrier named Rowdy who lives up to his name.
