Alaina Verdin is in her second season as an assistant coach for the Cowgirls but has seen been part of the Cowgirl program since 2010.
Verdin played for the Cowgirls from 2010-2015. After knee injuries sidelined Verdin for the 2010, 2011 and some of the 2012 season. She came back and concluded her playing career in 2015 then moved to the sidelines for the 2015-16 season serving as Director of Game Operations before being named assistant coach beginning the 2016-17 season.Â
Verdin, considered to be the winningest player in the history of the program, has been part of the Cowgirl success the past seven years including the 2011 regular season Southland Conference title, two Southland Conference Tournament championships and NCAA Tournament appearances (2011, 2012).
The native of Houma, played for Terrebonne High where she scored over 2,000 career points. She is a four time first team all-distric selection, two time district MVP, two time all-state and all-region. Verdin tied for a team high in blocks her freshman season and scored a career high 19 points and grabbed a career high 12 rebounds as a junior.
Verdin earned her degree in Health and Human Performance in 2015. She is the daughter of Rayetta Robertson.
