Sydney Schultz is in her second season as a Cowgirl assistant coach.
A Mayville, Wisconsin native, Schultz was a four-year letterwinner at Portland State where she played in 103 games, was a three-time Academic All-Big Sky selection and served as the team’s co-captain for two seasons (2022, 2023).
During her collegiate career, Schultz was nominated and invited to numerous coaching mentorship programs. She is a “Big Sky U” Aspiring Coaches and Administrators Cohort alumni, a mentorship program ran by the Big Sky Conference. Schultz was also a member of the “WBCA So You Want to Be a Coach” program in 2023.
While at Mayville High she recorded over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, becoming the school’s career leader in both categories. During the 2018-19 season, Schultz lead the entire state of Wisconsin in rebounding, averaging 16.2 rebounds per game.
Schultz has worked many hours as a volunteer coach. While in high school, she was the Mayville Middle School Girls Basketball Coach from 2015-2018. Along with that came numerous hours of being a coach for local girls’ basketball camps.
Schultz completed her undergraduate studies at Portland State with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management and a minor in Psychology.
