Christina Sarokon

Christina Sarokon enters her first season as an assistant coach for the McNeese women’s soccer program.
 
A native of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Sarokon comes to Lake Charles after a four-year career with the Saint Bonaventure women’s soccer program.
 
She appeared in 40 games, started 33 and posted 10 victories in goal for the Bonnies. She was named to the Atlantic 10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll all four years with the squad.
 
Sarokon displayed her talents on the national level as a member of the Women’s Premier Soccer League WPSL team Empire Revolution Rev’s.
 
As a coach, she is currently a goalkeeper staff coach for US Youth Soccer Region 1 Girls ODP. She formerly worked as the U13-U17 boys and girls goalkeeper coach, U12 boys and girls academy assistant coach, and the U13 girls assistant coach for New York State West ODP. She also served as a goalkeeper coach for the Empire Revolution Soccer Academy, and a goalkeeper staff coach for Joe Machnik's No.1 Soccer Camp and Tony DiCicco's SoccerPlus Goalkeeper camps.

 Prior to her collegiate career, Sarokon was a member of the United States U-14 National Team player pool in 2008, was chosen for the U.S. Soccer U-14 ID Camp and participated in the Nike Friendlies at the Home Depot Center with the U-14 National Team and was a member of the Region 1 ODP team from 2006-09 and traveled internationally with the Region 1 ODP team to Costa Rica in 2009. She was selected to two U.S. National ODP Interregional training camps in 2009 and 2010 and was a six-year starting goalkeeper for NY West State ODP tournament team 2006-12 and Region 1 ODP U16 tournament finalists with NY West in 2010. Sarokon was named Top Drawer Soccer four-star Regional Top 20 "Player to Watch" while having guided the Buffalo Soccer Academy Invaders to two New York West State championships in 2010 and 2011. She was a Region 1 tournament finalist in 2010 and played in the Region 1 Premier and USYS National League with the Invaders in 2011 and helped lead U18 Empire United Syracuse to a second place finish in the USYS National League in 2012.
 
A four-year starting goalkeeper for North Tonawanda High School varsity soccer team, Sarokon earned most valuable player honors three times and was a two-year captain. She was named to the "starting 11" New York State team by ESPN HS her senior year.
 
Sarokon earned a B.S. in Sports Studies and Human Development from Saint Bonaventure. She also earned her NSCAA Goalkeeper Levels I, II, and III diplomas, NSCAA Advanced National goalkeeping diploma, and the USSF National "D" License."
