Allison Holladay begins her first year in administration as the Coordinator for Student-Athlete Mentoring. Holladay was formerly the McNeese Soccer Assistant Coach for the past nine seasons. She was instrumental in coaching the goalkeepers that won the 2006 Southland Conference Tournament and the 2007 Regular Season Title. Holladay always coached with a “player-first” philosophy and she plans to bring that thought process into her new role.
Holladay will aid all student-athletes in five areas; Academic Excellence, Athletic Excellence, Personal Development, Career Development, and Community Service. “I am extremely excited to take on this new role. I view it as an opportunity to help the entire student-athlete population. I plan on being very active in helping all the student-athletes find success both on and off the field in each of the five previously mentioned categories. I am dedicated to making each person’s experience here at McNeese a positive and exciting place to grow.”
Before coming to McNeese, Holladay served as an assistant coach at Southeastern Louisiana University for three seasons. She concluded her playing career in 1999 as the most decorated player in the history of Southeastern soccer, helping the Lady Lions to two Southland Conference regular season titles (1999, 2002) and a Southland Conference Tournament title (1998).
Holladay began her career at LSU in 1995 and started in the majority of games, including the SEC Tournament. After a redshirt season in 1996, she transferred to Southeastern Louisiana University in 1997. Throughout her SLU career, she logged 5,401 minutes played, missing just 20 minutes of action in 59 career games with a 0.71 goals against average, a school record that still stands today. She is one of three Lady Lions to have been named All-Southland Conference three times (1997, 1998, 1999). She was also named to the Southland Conference All-Tournament Team twice (1998, 1999). Perhaps her greatest honor was becoming the first soccer player inducted into the Southeastern Louisiana University Hall of Fame in 2004.
