Daniel Salina is in his second year as a Cowgirl assistant coach also serving as the recruiting coordinator.
Salinas began his coaching career as a student assistant coach at West Texas A&M University where he spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons with the Lady Buffs who advanced to the conference tournament both seasons.Â
The native of Lake Charles spent three years as an assistant coach at Sam Houston High School where he was a part of two district championship and three state playoff teams.
While at Sam Houston High, Salinas coached 10 all-district performers including seven named to the first team. He also coached the Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Libero of the Yar.
Aside from high school coaching, Salinas has extensive club coaching where he has spent time with TAV (Texas Advantage Volleyball) Amarillo, Jet Volleyball, and Cajun Elite.
He coached the 2015 TAV Amarillo 17s team who qualified for the national tournament and four players from that team went on to play collegiately.
In 2016, Salinas coached the Jet Volleyball Amarillo 12, 14, and 16 teams who produced multiple Top 5 finishes in regional play and national tournaments.
Salinas coached the Cajun Elite (Lake Charles) in 2018 and 2019 where hit 18s team ranked 3rd in the Bayou Region and finished 9th at the Lone Star national qualifier. Â Â
