"We are very excited to welcome Dana back to our athletics department and community," said Martin. Dunbar returns to McNeese after she spent the last two years as Finance Coordinator for the University of Nebraska. In that role, she served as the primary financial contact for the daily business operations of seven sports programs and five administrative units where her responsibilities included analyzing and monitoring operational expenses to support accurate budgeting and financial reporting, managing accounts payable, and supervising purchasing activities to ensure compliance with university and NCAA regulations.
Â
Before joining the Huskers, Dunbar served as Coordinator of Compliance and Student-Athlete Services at McNeese from June 2023 to November 2024. She also supported student-athlete eligibility certification, including financial aid processing and rules education, and served as an assistant advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Â
Dunbar previously spent two seasons as the Director of Softball Operations at McNeese, where she served as the primary liaison between the team and the athletic department. In this role, she managed all logistics for team, coaching staff, and recruiting travel, oversaw the program’s budget, and coordinated game-day operations.
Â
During her tenure, the Cowgirls won both the Southland Conference regular-season and tournament titles in 2022 and 2023. They also advanced to the championship games of the NCAA Northwestern Regional in 2022 and the NCAA Washington Regional in 2023.
