Kenneth Lee Jr. joined the McNeese women's basketball staff in June (2025) and will serve as Associate Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator.
Lee is a native of Baton Rouge who spent the last eight years on Guzzardo’s staff at Southeastern where he first became the Lady Lions Recruiting Coordinator in 2017 before being elevated to Associate Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator/Defensive Coordinator in 2018.
During his time at Southeastern, Lee helped the Lady Lions to five straight consecutive winning seasons (2020-25) including the programs first regular season and tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2023. That same season, Lee helped coach and develop the Southland Tournament MVP in Hailey Giaratano, who was the first Lady Lion to garner SLC Tournament MVP honors in school history.
One year later in 2024, Lee was instrumental in coaching and developing the programs first SLC Defensive Player of the Year in Jalencia Pierre and was part of a staff that had the nationally ranked No. 7 team in field goal percentage defense.
In his final season at Southeastern, Lee helped the Lady Lions to another regular season title and a WBIT appearance with a team that posted the best record in program history (26-2) and broke the conference record for most consecutive wins with 19 during the 2024-25 season.
For the second straight year, Lee coached helped produce the back-to-back SLC Defensive Player of the Year in Jalencia Pierre as well as the SLC Player of the Year in Alexius Horne.
Lee was part of a Southeastern staff that led the SLC in scoring defense in 2022, 2023 and 2025 and ranked sixth in the nation in scoring defense in 2025, 13th in 2022, and 18th in 2023.
In all, he coached and developed 11 All-Southland Conference players.
Prior to his stint at Southeastern, Lee spent five years at head coach of the Louisiana Lady Select AAU Team where over 30 of his players signed to play with Division I institutions.
In 2015, he helped Ponchatoula High win its first 5A State Championship with a 33-3 record before spending the 2016 season at Brusly High where the team advanced to the Class 3A playoffs and he coached a pair of all-district performers.
