Raymond Donovan

Raymond Donovan is beginning his 11th season on the McNeese football staff and was promoted to Director of Football Technology in the summer of 2024.
 
A Graduate of McNeese and former Cowboy football player, Donovan received his bachelor’s degree in 2012 and master’s in instructional technology in 2014.
 
He began his McNeese career in 2014 as an intern under then-head coach Matt Viator and was a staff member for the 2015 Southland Conference champion Cowboys.
 
In 2016, he transitioned to offensive quality control, working with the offensive line, special teams and video. In 2019 he was named Video Coordinator where he was overseeing all aspects of self and opponent scout video.
 
New duties include sideline replay technology and managing all team accounts such as PFF, Thundercloud and Catapult Scout.
 
In 2023 and 2024 he worked with the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL/UFL assisting with all gameday technology such as Sideline Tablet Replay and Player to Coach Comms and Headsets and was part of the team staff that won back-to-back league championships.
 
As a player, Donovan was a member of the 1997 Southland Conference Championship team that played in the FCS National Championship game, the first of two appearances.
