LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball will conclude its four-game home stand and will look to build on its 79-70 win over LSU-Alexandria when the Cowgirls host Southern Miss at 2 p.m. Sunday at Burton Coliseum. Fifteen minutes prior to the game, McNeese will retire the jersey of Cowgirl great Pat "Shoney" Jean during pre-game ceremonies.

Ann Nwosah's double-double (11 pts., 11 reb.) held off a pesky LSU-Alexandria Thursday, will attempt to hand Southern Miss (3-0) their first loss of the season. The Eagles return four starters with 77 percent of its offense and 89 percent of its rebounding coming back from a team that lost 74-66 to Mississippi State in double overtime of the WNIT last season.
The Cowgirls enter the game averaging 72.3 ppg. and continue to be led by junior guard
Allison Baggett. Baggett is averaging 16.7 ppg. and has scored in double figures in two of the first three games of the season. She is coming off a season high 25 points in the win over LSU-A.

Frederica Haywood continues to lead McNeese with 7.7 rebounds per contest and Nwosah is averaging 5.3 per game.
The Eagles have picked up their wins against William Carey, South Alabama and most recently a 69-51 victory over Mississippi Valley last Wednesday.
Southern Miss has four players averaging in double figures and is led by Lashyra Cotton's 11.3 ppg. Brooke Rhodes and Kierra Jordan are averaging 11.0 ppg. Tamara Jones is averaging 10.0 ppg. and Jerontay Clemons leads the Eagles with 7.0 rpg.
