McNeese Athletics Launches New Social Media Campaign

LAKE CHARLES – In a new effort to connect and engage with its fan base, McNeese State Athletics is proud to announce the launch of an innovative and over-the-top social media campaign that is set to begin on July 1.
 
The campaign, which will utilize the slogan "McNeese Sports: What We Live For", is an interactive experience that focuses solely on the department's interaction with its fan base through current social media platforms while also introducing new ways of participation through new mobile and tablet apps.
 
McNeese Athletics' goal is to provide current followers with new content such as daily trivia contests, behind-the-scenes interactions and coverage of each athletic event throughout the year. Those new to Cowboy Country will be enriched with the history of McNeese through weekly posts and pictures that includes historic material as well as updates on current athletic events.
 
With over 28,000 followers on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, McNeese Athletics looks to lead the way into the digital future by introducing a presence on two brand new mobile apps. To kick off the interactive experience, the department will introduce the Snapchat and Periscope apps, which are set to debut on the first day of the campaign on July 1.
 
McNeese will use its Snapchat account to give fans a behind-the-scenes, preview upcoming promotions, contests and much more. The photos and videos will be displayed within the platform for 24 hours before they disappear.
 
To follow the Cowboys on Snapchat, fans can search for McNeeseSports and tap the "Add Friend" icon next to the username.
 
Periscope is a brand new app found on IOS and Android devices that lets you share and experience live video direct from the host's mobile phone. McNeese Sports will be able to connect with its fans by providing live video from press conference's, post-game press conferences, game day preparations, tailgating, athletic practices and much more.
 
The Cowboys will introduce its Periscope presence during the 2015 Southland Conference Football Media Days. Fans can follow the Pokes by searching for McNeeseSports in the search engine on the Periscope app.
