CONWAY, Ark. – The McNeese women's tennis squad turned in another dominant win Saturday afternoon defeating Missouri State, 7-0, in a neutral site bout at the Hendrix Indoor Tennis Center in Conway, Ark.
 
The Cowgirls improved to 6-4 on the year and hold a perfect record in neutral site matches with a 3-0 mark. Missouri State dropped to 1-7 this year after falling to Central Arkansas the day before.
 
In doubles, McNeese grabbed the early point following a win from the team of Klaudia Gawlik and Hannah Brett in the No. 2 spot while Giovanna Fioretti and Sarah Jurakova clinched with a 6-1 victory over the combo of Ema Turudija and Miranda Poile.
 
The Cowgirls dominated singles play with Julia Kral helping get the team out to a 2-0 lead after dominating Ekaterina Donetskova in the second position 6-1, 6-0. Fioretti upped the lead to 3-0 in the overall match after having swept Anelisse Torrico 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 2 spot.
 
Senior Klaudia Gawlik's 57th career singles win was memorable in many ways Saturday afternoon as it helped her team clinch the match while also taking sole possession of second on the all-time singles win list. She took down Ema Turudija in the top spot after battling back from a set down to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.
 
Other singles victories for the Cowgirls included Brett's 6-2, 6-2 win on Court 5, Jurakova's victory on Court 4 in three sets 7-5, 3-6, 10-8 and Charoline Erlandsson who defeated Phoebe Boeschen on Court 6 6-2, 2-6, 10-4.
 
The Cowgirls will be back in action Sunday morning with a Southland Conference opening contest against Central Arkansas. First serve is set for a 9:30 a.m. start.
