LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese women's soccer team left no doubt on the field Sunday afternoon as an explosive Cowgirl offensive unit received goals from six different players in a 6-2 victory over Prairie View A&M at Cowgirl Field.
Sunday's victory pushed McNeese to 4-4 overall on the year as it finished out its non-conference slate while the Panthers dropped to an 0-6 mark overall.
"It was good to get back in the win column today," said head coach
Drew Fitzgerald. "It was good to get different players time on the field to work out some kinks. We will now turn our focus to league play and Central Arkansas."
The Cowgirls were in no mood to play around as junior
Savannah LaRicci scored one of the quickest goals in program history when she broke away and netted a shot from the top of the 18
th just over one minute into the contest that gave her team a 1-0 lead. Defender
Nikki Schaaf was credited with an assist on the play.
LaRicci was the catalyst in McNeese's dominating victory against Prairie View as she fired off a career-high 10 shots, eight of which were on goal, and scored her sixth goal this season. LaRicci was also credited with two assists during the match.
McNeese upped its lead to two goals in the 31
st minute as junior
