LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's tennis team took an early 1-0 lead against ULM here Saturday by winning the doubles point but eventually fell 5-2 to the Warhawks.
The Cowgirls 3-6) dropped the no. 3 doubles before
Sarah Jurakova and
Hannah Brett evened the doubles match with a 6-4 win at no. 1. Vivian Borbely teamed with
Charoline Erlandsson at the no.2 doubles to pick up a 7-5 win to clinch the doubles point for the Cowgirls.
ULM came back to win five of the six singles matches to claim the overall match. Brett picked up the only Cowgirl singles victory with a 7-6, 2-6, 10-3 win over Patricia Villar at the no. 3 singles.
McNeese will travel to Lafayette Tuesday to face UL-Lafayette at 3:30 p.m. then will host Southeastern La. at Noon Saturday in its Southland Conference opener.
