LAKE CHARLES—Coming off two wins at the Louisiana Tech Classic on Sunday, McNeese softball will look to keep swinging the hot bats that saw the Cowgirls pound out a combined 25 hits and five home runs when they host South Alabama at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cowgirl Diamond.

Fans are encouraged to come to the game dressed in their best Mardi Gras costume for a chance to win a King Cake.
McNeese (7-9) snapped a five game losing streak with Sunday's wins and will be looking to avenge a 1-0, eight-inning loss to the Jaguars in mid-February at the South Alabama Mardi Gras Invitational.

Morgan Catron leads the Cowgirls with a .365 average, 19 hits, 17 RBI and is tied for a team high four homeruns.
Tori Yanitor also has four home runs on the season along with 15 hits and a .273 average.
Erika Piancastelli is batting .295 with 13 hits and 17 walks.

Rachel Smith, Alexasandra Flores and
Jolie Trahan all have two wins apiece. Smith leads the staff with a 2.49 ERA and 26 strikeouts. Flores has a 2.95 ERA with 15 strikeouts and Trahan has a 3.76 ERA with 10 strikeouts.
South Alabama (10-1) is coming off its own South Alabama Invitational title last weekend with wins over Tennessee Tech, Texas A&M-CC, Middle Tennessee and Stephen F. Austin. It only loss of the season was a 3-1 setback at Alabama on Feb.15. This will be the second road game for the Jaguars this season.
MC Nicholls heads the squad with a .514 average with 18 hits while Kristian Foster is batting .421 with 16 hits. Amanda Minahan leads the Jaguars with two home runs.
Devin Brown and Destin Vicknair have been sharing the pitching duties. Brown is 6-1 on the year with a 0.41 ERA with six shutouts and 77 strikeouts. Vicknair is 7-0 on the season with a 0.53 ERA, two shutouts and 29 strikeouts.
