(SB) Cowgirls Place Five On LSWA All-Louisiana Team

BATON ROUGE- McNeese's Kassidy Chance, Nyjah Fontenot, Maddie Taylor, Jada Munoz, and Rylee Cloud have been named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana Softball Team, the organization announced the 2026 team today. 
Chance, Fontenot, and Taylor were named to the second team while Munoz was an honorable mention selection.
 
Chance, a sophomore shortstop led the Cowgirls with a .437 batting average, 66 hits, .420 on base percent and was second on the team with42 runs scored.  The Southland Conference Tournament MVP was credited with 32 RBI, 12 stolen bases and ended the season reaching base in the last 23 games.
 
Fontenot, a junior outfielder was second on the team with a .348 batting average, a .429 on base percent, and led the team with a 20-game hitting streak during the season.  Fontenot was credited with 35 RBI, scored 37 runs in 48 games played.
 
Taylor, a junior pitcher/designated player, led the Cowgirls with 48 walks, tied for second on the team with nine homeruns, and was third on the team with 42 RBI.  In the circle, Taylor led the team with 18 wins (18-6), 140 innings pitched.  She was second on the team with a 3.95 ERA, 73 strikeouts, and won 11 of her last 13 games of the season.
 
Munoz, a senior third baseman led the Cowgirls with 11 homeruns and a .613 slugging percent.  She was second on the team with 46 RBI and third with a .327 batting average and 12 stolen bases.
 
Cloud, a senior outfielder led McNeese with 49 RBI, four triples, and 15 stolen bases and was third on the team with 13 doubles and 24 walks.  Cloud produced a .326 batting average, with 57 hits, scored 45 runs and had 19 multiple hit games and 14 multiple RBI games.
