LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese women's tennis team returns to Southland Conference action as it hits the road for a pair of matches against two of the toughest opponents in the league in Stephen F. Austin and Northwestern State.
The Cowgirls will face off against SFA starting at 1 p.m. Saturday in Nacogdoches and will wrap up the road trip with a noon match against the Lady Demons in Natchitoches on Monday.
McNeese (7-6, 2-0 SLC) currently rides a four-match win streak and began its conference slate with victories over Southeastern Louisiana and New Orleans. The Cowgirls have won six of their last 10 SLC regular season bouts dating back to last season.

Hannah Brett leads the way in singles play with a 10-2 record while
Giovanna Fioretti and
Charoline Erlandsson are both 2-0 in Southland play this season. Erlandsson is on a four-match win streak and has eight victories in doubles this season.
Stephen F. Austin (4-6, 0-2 SLC) dropped its first two Southland matches to Sam Houston State and Lamar. The Ladyjacks hold a 2-1 record in Nacogdoches on the year and will play its first home match since Feb. 4 on Sunday.
The Ladyjacks are led by Liza Aginskaya, who holds a 6-1 record in the No. 5 and 6 spots this season, while Denise Maxl and Gabi Guilarte each have four wins on the year.
Northwestern State (8-3, 1-0 SLC) defeated Sam Houston State, 4-3, in its only conference match so far this season. The Lady Demons hold a perfect 5-0 mark on its home court where they have won their matches by a combined 26-5 score.
Polina Ivanova leads the way in the top spot for Northwestern State with a 6-5 mark including a 1-0 record in SLC play. The Lady Demons have four players who have winning streaks of two or more matches including Judit Castillo's four-match consecutive ride.
