SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The McNeese women's tennis team picked up a dominating victory on the road Saturday afternoon as the Cowgirls took down Incarnate Word, 5-2.
 
With the victory, McNeese improved to 9-9 overall and 4-3 in the Southland while UIW dipped to 3-14 on the year and remains winless on league play.
 
The Cowgirls scored a pair of easy victories in doubles play in the No. 1 and 3 positions. The combo of Sarah Jurakova and Hannah Brett scored a 6-0 win over UIW in the first spot while Stella Carra and Giovanna Fioretti scored a 6-0 victory in position three.
 
McNeese was quick to put away the match in singles play as the Cowgirls scored wins on Courts 1, 2, and 3. With Jurakova sitting out, Brett took over the No. 2 spot and defeated Rachel Sadiq 6-0, 6-0. Brett improved to 14-3 on the year and 5-2 in league singles play while having won eight of her last 10 matches.
 
Vivien Borbely picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win in the fifth position to make it a 3-0 score. It was Borbely's second conference victory this year.
 
Charoline Erlandsson scored the match point and sealed the victory for McNeese as she scored a win over Victoria Kareh 6-2, 6-2 on Court 3. Erlandsson is now 4-3 in singles action this season in Southland Conference play.
 
Stella Carra took the last point of the match for the Cowgirls with a 6-1, 4-6, 10-7 win in the No. 6 spot. The win was the first in league action for Carra.
 
McNeese returns home next weekend to continue Southland Conference action with a match against Central Arkansas on Sunday, April 2 at 11 a.m.
